There is a great  article in The Beacon Journal today!

Check this out!

Very nice job Carl!

I tell ya!  Those New Rome Lovers just don't get it!  First off, we have NEVER called it a Speed Trap.  It's a TRAFFIC TRAP!  Then they go on to try to make it all State picking on little government who has never done a thing wrong!  Wrong again!  If it wasn't for so many people speaking out against New Rome the politicians would likely have kept on ignoring it.  They ignored it for 40 years so why change anything?  The fact is WE make the politicians know when we're not happy and if enough people aren't happy they find a way to change things.  That is how a real government works.  Not that I would accuse New Rome of being a real government.

While the NR PD is suspended I would like to encourage anyone who has been avoiding New Rome and it's businesses to drive through New Rome and stop in to buy some merchandise!  Visit Ed or Jeff and get a hair cut.  Have a bite to eat at Coney Island or Josie's Pizza.  Pick up some flowers for a loved one at the florist!

All these businesses (and others) have suffered lost customers/money because of New Rome PD.  Let's show them how things will be when the corruption is gone once and for good.

Keep checking back here for updates in case the police decide to spring back into action.  Though it is looking more and more like the Fall of New Rome Party will be sooner than expected!

Thanks to Tom for the following pictures.  It's clear that it's not business as usual in New Rome!

"I've notified the one police officer that I spoke to in there that without a police chief, he's not to operate as a police force."

10:16am - Not much to report today!

New Rome PD is still shut down according to our sources.  Some have even driven through New Rome!  Daring people!  I won't do it until there is a CLOSED sign on the door and the cars are dusty from not being used.

Larry Cunningham was in the news though.

Seems his JUMP camp employees can't leave the little girls alone.  tsk tsk tsk

Read about Colonel Cunninghams Camp drawing attention again.

11:38pm - Start spreading the news!

This has to be the biggest news since the vote to dissolve!  Police Chief Larry Cunningham and Lt. Roger Kerr have resigned from the New Rome PD.  Mayor Jamie Mueller has changed the locks to the trailer of Injustice and placed the remaining police on suspension!  He said he doesn't look for the positions to be filled any time soon.  Nancy Chapmen said there would be mayhem. That means they will probably get drunk and go smash stuff to make it look like the force is needed.  We are one step closer to celebrating the downfall of New Rome!

Here's some more good coverage on the rapid unraveling of New Rome as we knew and hated it.

Changes in works for New Rome Great article from This Week News.  Detail regarding New Rome's traffic light not mentioned elsewhere.

New Law to Let Courts Dissolve Villages Akron Beacon Journal

New Rome could soon be village of the past NBC4 Columbus.  Nice video segment available.  Ex-mayor Chapman is interviewed, and the reporter states that Cunningham claims New Rome has a "Road Crew!"

Bill approval tightens noose on New Rome future Suburban Papers.  Good quotes.

There's been a slow build in news stories since the governor signed the bill last week.  I wanted to share some of them with you:

7:28am - More news is good news

So I went to the meeting last night and the old guard didn't show up.  I heard Connie talking about David having to go out of town, Melissa not getting off work yet, and Patricia was sick.  She didn't have an excuse for Nancy.

Sounds like a bunch of BS really.  I had fun anyway talking to everyone after.  The police wasn't out patrolling.  Another good sign.  One reader reports they have not seen a car patrol since the LEADS was taken away.  Anyone else notice this?

Nice story in the Dispatch from Steve Stephens about New Rome losing their Mayors court after 90 days.

New Rome court on way out (registration required)

It's all music to my ears!  One reader was asking me what I would do when New Rome is gone.  Will I retire?  Seek out other injustice and expose them?  Run for President?  Ok maybe not... I have thought about this on more than one occasion and I'm not sure.  Most likely look for other bad places to expose and find a committed soul who was burned by them to help them take them down.  I think the good fight is best fought by someone who has experienced a situation.  It removes elements of self interest and the quest for fame that some thought I was seeking by starting all of this.

8:12am  Good article in the Dispatch this morning about the two big events regarding New Rome yesterday, the loss of their LEADS terminal and Governor Taft signing the "New Rome Bill".  New Rome loses Police Database for 30 Days.  Here's one from ONN that doesn't require registration to read: Governor Signs Village Dissolution Bill.

3:30pm - Almost forgot!

More court room drama!

Check out this article from our friend Ben Crites:

More court action files in New Rome maelstrom

They are trying to mess with our Lawyer, Kinsley Nyce, now.  I hope the court puts them in their place.  Maybe fines them.  That would be great.

This just in from the news departments!!!

New Rome Police Department’s LEADS system suspended

Give me a YAY!!!

Ahhh I can smell the beginning of the end!!  Yeah it says "Due to officer safety concerns, New Rome will be permitted to gain access to LEADS information through another local terminal agency." but I bet their stops will be WAY down.  Too bad it's not for 90 days, but hey it's a start.

On the down side we have been told that the traffic light has been changed back to normal operation.  Of course without a constant leads flow it doesn't matter.  I can't wait to go to the meeting Tuesday!  Hope to see some of you there!

We have something new and fun!  Check it out!

7:12am - New Rome Traffic Light

This just in!  The traffic light in New Rome was kicked over to flashing yellow as of yesterday!  YAY!  One source reports that the police were pretty scarce too.  Could this be the beginning of the end?  Stay tuned!

Dispatch - Highway signs will still show way to Obetz, ODOT says
"
The names of New Rome, Obetz and other small communities may be preserved on highway signs throughout the state despite plans to erase them."

I hope that the Obetz sign is the only one staying.  If the New Rome sign should stay I say we start an emailing campaign to the Federal Highway Administration (or whoever is in charge of handing the money to Ohio) and tell them Ohio is not complying.  I'm sorry, but people only know New Rome because of it's being a Traffic Trap and source of corruption.
