Decision 2002 Political Endorsements

The staff of  NewRomeSucks.com is happy to announce the following endorsements for the following candidates that we believe best support the elimination of corrupt villages like New Rome.

Ohio Governor: John Eastman
Dr. Eastman is on the ballot representing the Natural Law party in this year's
gubernatorial race.  Instead of the incumbent Bob Taft, or Democratic challenger Tim Hagan, we feel that Mr. Eastman's fresh ideas would be good for Ohio.  What follows are his comments when asked about New Rome:

I spent a little time last night looking at your web
site.  I was appalled by the evidence of corruption in
New Rome, of which I was not previously aware.  My
view on corruption is that it must be removed wherever
it is found, whether in small villages like New Rome
or in corporate boardrooms and high government
circles.

And corruption will end exactly when PEOPLE take
charge of government and don't leave it to
"professional politicians."  Looks like you are taking
charge in a place where it matters.  More power to you
for putting the spot light on it.

Ohio Attorney General: Jim Petro
Mr. Petro recently released and audit report that ripped the government of New Rome, and outright called for the dissolution of the village.  We think Mr. Petro would make a fine attorney general.

Ohio State Representative 29th District: Larry Wolpert
Mr. Wolpert represents the area of Franklin County that includes New Rome.  He has recently introduced legislation that would give state officials the power to dissolve villages like New Rome.  Mr. Wolpert is running unopposed this election.

Columbus City Issue #18 "Car Rental Tax": Vote NO
Nothing to do with New Rome, really but this is a fun issue. I find it irritating when the local government of a city I'm visiting tacks fees for every pet project onto my car rental bill.  I helped pay for the new stadium in Phoenix, isn't that cute?  I don't think this is a good way to welcome visitors to Columbus.  We already have one of the highest bed taxes (hotels) in the nation. Columbus, if you need more money, spend less.  Don't skim it off rental car tabs.
